Kitchens

3^nd & 4^th Floor

Shared kitchens are at the end of the corridor on each guest floor, and they’ve got everything you need – cutlery, plates, glasses, stove, kettle, toaster, pans, you name it! You can store food in the fridge by labeling your items with your name and date of checkout. Any unidentified items will be discarded by our ruthless team.

Social Areas

3^nd & 4^th Floor

Social areas are located on each floor. Think comfy sofas, big windows for natural light, and shelves filled with books. Whether you’re up for chilling, mingling, or diving into a good read, they’re the right spot. Plus, they’re great for making new friends without bothering your roommates. No parties or sleeping in the social areas, please!

Bathrooms

3^nd & 4^th Floor

Shared bathrooms are located in the corridor. If they’re occupied on your floor, you’re welcome to use the ones on other floors. Your key card works there too! Our awesome team cleans them several times per day, but please help by keeping them clean and tidy for everyone’s use. Feel free to report any issues to our front desk staff.

Laundry

4^th Floor

Washing machine and dryer are located on 4th floor, at the end of the corridor. It’s 990 ISK each and easy to use: swipe your payment card on the yellow box on the wall, pick your machine name, select program and temperature on the machine, hit start, and boom, you’re all set! Oh, and don’t worry about detergent – it’s provided automatically!

Patio

2^nd Floor

Whether you’re savoring a morning coffee, enjoying a refreshing drink in the afternoon, or winding down under the stars in the evening, our patio provides ample seating options, including cozy nooks and communal tables. Here’s plenty of room for solo reflection or lively conversations with new friends. And if you’re hungry, you can order food at the bar!

Bar & Restaurant FLATUS

Our bar and restaurant are undergoing an exciting once-in-a-lifetime makeover and will be closed for the next few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to stop by the reception for recommendations on fantastic local spots for breakfast, as well as excellent options for lunch and dinner.

It’s our venue for concerts and private parties! We might even hide a mechanical bull to surprise you on special occasions. If you’re eager to join the fun but want to avoid crashing someone else’s party, just ask our front desk team for the schedule. They’ll let you know if it’s a private event or if it’s open to the public.

Gym & Tonic

2^nd Floor

Gym & Tonic is KEX’s multifunctional hall, for meetings, conferences, concerts, private parties… Styled like an old-school boxing gym, you can even channel your inner Rocky Balboa with a few swings at the punching bag. It’s all about good old-fashioned workouts here—no frills, no face masks, just pure fun. Plus, we’ve got a foosball table and dart boards for added fun!

Library “TEXT”

2^nd Floor

A cosy corner of the bar/lounge area dedicated to our eccentric collection of reading materials that Vonnegut himself would approve of. We’ve got dog-eared biographies, weathered pages of poetry, guide books with loose spines, Icelandic Sagas and old issues of National Geographic. So grab a spot on the leather sofas in the Text area and quench your thirst.

Class Room

3^nd Floor

Need a quiet spot with Wifi for that crucial Zoom call, studying, or focusing on work? The Class Room on the 3rd floor is the right place. Pick between the teacher’s chair or a student bench, it’s all up to you! It’s a cozy space meant for individual work, so no big gatherings or team brainstorming sessions allowed. Let’s keep it serene and productive in there!
